چکیده

Fungi commonly known for diseases generating and fermentation agents, apart from this some fungi show biodegradation agents. Pesticides are used for controlling plant diseases but when spraying the pesticides only 40% goes at target and the rest in soil environment. So the soil be contaminated and as a result of this useful microflora are affected and soil fertility decline. So, some fungi tested against the pesticides 2,4-D (Herbicide) Results reveal that fungi Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma koningii, Penicillium chrysogenum and Rhizopus stolanifer are showing capacity pesticides elimination in soil. The HPLC and Chemical Oygen Dmand (COD) result showed Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma koningii notable removal of pesticides in minimal mineral medium and Penicillium chrysogenum mderate removal of herbicide. The principle reaction involved in the pesticides degradation leading to loss of herbicidal activity and converted into secondary metabolites. The intermediate of these pesticides would convert into simpler environmental friendly compounds on long acclimation with potential microorganisms. Therefore bioremediation of pesticides by the obove isolate microorganisms could be used for remediation of pesticides contaminated soil and water.

Microbial biodegradation of the herbicide 2,4-D in soils and subsurface sediments

Much of the row crop production agriculture in the Midwest occurs on soils developed from glacial till, but little research has addressed herbicide biodegradation in subsurface till. This study investigated the ability of indigenous microorganisms to mineralize the herbicide 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) at sites in Iowa and Indiana. Microorganisms were able to mineralize 2,4-D, with r...

Degradation of atrazine and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid by mycorrhizal fungi at three nitrogen concentrations in vitro.

Nine mycorrhizal fungi and free-living saprophytic microorganisms were tested for their ability to degrade two chlorinated aromatic herbicides at two herbicide concentrations and three nitrogen concentrations. Radiolabelled 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-s-triazine (atrazine) were used as substrates at concentrations of 1 and 4 mM. After 8 week...

Isolation and 2,4-D-degrading characteristics of Cupriavidus campinensis BJ71

An indigenous bacterial strain capable of utilizing 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid as the sole carbon and energy source was isolated from a soil used for grown wheat with a long-term history of herbicide use in Beijing, China. The strain BJ71 was identified as Cupriavidus campinensis based on its 16S rRNA sequence analysis and morphological, physiological, and biochemical characteristics. The d...

Comparison of gas chromatography and mineralization experiments for measuring loss of selected polychlorinated biphenyl congeners in cultures of white rot fungi.

Two methods were used to compare the biodegradation of six polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners by 12 white rot fungi. Four fungi were found to be more active than Phanerochaete chrysosporium ATCC 24725. Biodegradation of the following congeners was monitored by gas chromatography: 2,3-dichlorobiphenyl, 4,4'-dichlorobiphenyl, 2,4',5-trichlorobiphenyl (2,4',5-TCB), 2,2',4,4'-tetrachlorobiphe...

Acute toxicity evaluation of five herbicides: paraquat, 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D), trifluralin, glyphosite and atrazine in Luciobarbus esocinus fingerlings

Background: Evaluation of herbicide pollution in aquatic environments needs the great concern and the most important echo-pollutant effects of herbicides are related to their effects on non target aquatic organisms. Native fish can serve as a proper bio-indicator for evaluation  of pollution on aquatic ecosystems. OBJECTIVES: To find environmentally friendly herbicides, in this study the acute ...
